What is a CPL?

A Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is a licence that grants the holder the eligibility to act as a co-pilot or first officer in an aeroplane. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issues CPL in India to eligible candidates who have cleared the DGCA theory exams with 70% marks and have a minimum of 200 hours of flying experience.

Can I be a pilot without a degree?

An undergraduate or postgraduate degree is not required for an individual to become a commercial pilot. To become a CPL licence holder approved by DGCA, you must have a 12th-standard pass mark sheet with Maths and Physics as the two core subjects.
